We also did a block party last weekend and fed a whole bunch of our neighbors as well as had bouncy houses, cotton candy machine, snow cone machine, popcorn machine, and more!
We’re stoked about all the outreach we’re doing right now. In 1 week we have 10,000 mailers going out to all the households in Missoula with children. We’re excited to get the word out about RCC.
Preached today on Overcoming Obstacles out of Joshua 3. This was a change up that I made this morning. Something I’ve never done. I like predictability. Stability. But you can’t put God in a box. He’s not a formula. Sometimes he calls an audible.
Anyway, I think it went pretty well. Talk to you next week!
If God cares about technology, then we made him really mad last night!
I purchased a new computer on Friday because my other one was shot. Unfortunately, I didn’t get it all ready for the service on Sunday, and we forgot to test it before the service.
So, we had no words during the first part of the worship set. We also had no powerpoint of the sermon.
That got me a little flustered. Then I forgot how to play the lead rhythm part of one of our songs. Trainwreck. But we eventually pulled it off.
Now here’s a perfect example of God’s redemption: Several people commented on how great the worship was last night. In fact, one person who has been with us for 2 years said it was the best worship experience in the history of RCC!
WOW! God is so much bigger than our capabilities, or lack thereof.
We had a great celebration last night. RCC turned 2 this last week and we took some time to thank God for all he has done, and all he is going to do. We really believe that our best years are ahead of us.
We ordered some pizzas and birthday cake and most everyone stayed after the service and partied!
Some wise man once said, “It’s not how you start that matters, but how you finish.”
Well, I think we finished well last night. Thank you Lord!
Oh by the way, we didn’t get the sermon recorded, but it was another Really Big Word titled “Ecclesia”.
I was actually gone elk hunting this weekend, so Darin and Eric took the reigns and did a great job. We saw 94 elk in two days, but no shots. It’s one of 2 Sundays that I miss each year. It’s hard to miss a Sunday, but it’s good for me!
We continued our sermon series on Really Big Words. This week’s RBW was Sanctification.
Darin did an awesome job on this one. If you’re the person who struggles with trying to become a better person, you need to have a listen.
