Love Missoula is an effort by the local Missoula churches to creatively serve our city and show them the love of God in a practical way. Below are some ideas for loving your city:
- Clean houses for elderly or disabled
- Help at a local school
- Sponsor a family for Christmas
- Visit the sick in hospitals
- Visit people in senior centers
- Help with immunization clinics
- Drive people to doctor's appointments
- Give rides to homeless people to church
- Contribute to Angel Tree
- Clean around the city, City Hall
- Bring food to the food bank
VOLUNTEER AT A LOCAL NON-PROFIT!
What if everyone in Missoula County donated 1 hr a week of their time to one of the wonderful non-profit groups in town? That would be 100,000 volunteer-hours every week! We could literally wipe out social and environmental issues in our community!
We don't believe in trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to battling for social justice. There are many organizations in Missoula that are doing great things, yet are in need of both people and financial resources. Why not just join forces with these groups rather than try and tackle these difficult issues on our own? We believe that a grassroots strategy of encouraging every person to take individual responsibility is more effective, and is both a natural outcome and source of spiritual growth.
