Values

We obviously value many things because we are a diverse community of believers. However, the things listed below are those that we feel really help to define River City Church.

  1. Grace. We realize that we are forever indebted to God for the grace that He has shown, and continues to show each of us on a daily basis, even though we don't deserve it. We try our best to demonstrate God’s grace towards other people, even though they don't deserve it.

  2. Community. We value both the community that we live in, and the community of believers called River City Church. We believe that community happens when we actively become a part of other peoples’ lives.

  3. Authenticity. We think it’s important to be authentic. This means being open and honest about our shortcomings as human beings. The church is made up of imperfect people. That’s okay. We don’t claim to be any better than anyone else.

  4. Growth. We value spiritual growth and believe that growth comes from intentionally investing in our relationship with God and others. Serving God and others with our God-given gifts and abilities is a sign that spiritual growth is happening.

  5. Simplicity. We like to keep things simple. Fewer rules, less red tape. We try not to complicate faith. Jesus summed it all up when he said to love God and to love people. That’s what it’s about.
